Social Media Administrator
Reports to: Chief of Staff
Description:
The social media administrator is responsible for the brigade social media outlets. They will manage membership to closed outlets as well as general brigade announcements and points of interest. They will also be responsible for monitoring said outlets for moderation issues and comments or questions that require a response. They may respond to comments or coordinate with the appropriate staff officer to get the appropriate information as needed at their discretion.
Specific Duties:

Manage brigade social media outlets, including the Facebook Group, Facebook Page, Youtube channel, Twitter and Discord server.

Appoint moderators as needed to assist in moderating and managing feedback and membership on various social media outlets.

Coordinate with brigade staff and members as needed to post news and updates following information control standards to ensure internal information is not published in insecure ways.

Advise chief of staff and officer in charge of social media related issues.
Role-Specific Qualifications:

Understand and be proficient with common social media services including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Discord.

Be able to fairly manage and moderate social media outlets.
General Qualifications:
-
must be 18 years of age or older
-
must be a member of the Brigade they are serving (Residency in the BDE is not a requirement, but may be preferred by the Officer in Charge.)

Possess good organizational and planning skills

Possess good time management skills

The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.

The ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.

Exercise responsibility, discretion, and judgment in making decisions.

Be able to follow policy and procedure as set forth in the STARFLEET Bylaws and Membership Handbook, the Marine Force Manual and the Policy Manual.
In addition, you *MUST* have:

A consistent Internet connection and be willing to acknowledge all emails sent to you with 48 hours.

Be willing to take direction as needed to accomplish the duties.

Have a good working knowledge of the Marine Force Manual

Have a proficient understanding of office productivity software (Word, Excel, etc.)

Have access to and a proficient understanding of google services (Google Drive & file sharing)
Training Requirements:

OTS: Officers Training School (Preferred)

PD-100: Marine Basic Course (Preferred)
