Project Officer: Operations
Reports to: Chief of Staff
Description:
The project officer: operations is in charge of planning and coordinating brigade events and brigade participation at regional events. They’ll be the primary person to plan and execute events, coordinating with the appropriate parties depending on the event.
Specific Duties:

Coordinate with the officer in charge via the chief of staff to plan and execute brigade musters, dress messes and brigade days.

Solicit and/or receive suggestions for brigade events.

Coordinate with the officer in charge and the regional coordinator in regards to brigade participation at regional summit.

Coordinate with Social Media Administrator as needed to publish events to brigade information outlets.

Assign and coordinate honor guard and other volunteer staff as needed at formal events.
Role-Specific Qualifications:

Must possess in good event planning skills

Must be comfortable with social media platforms in respect to event publication
General Qualifications:
-
must be 18 years of age or older
-
must be a member of the Brigade they are serving (Residency in the BDE is not a requirement, but may be preferred by the Officer in Charge.)

Possess good organizational and planning skills

Possess good time management skills

The ability to communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing.

The ability to deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.

Exercise responsibility, discretion, and judgment in making decisions.

Be able to follow policy and procedure as set forth in the STARFLEET Bylaws and Membership Handbook, the Marine Force Manual and the Policy Manual.
In addition, you *MUST* have:

A consistent Internet connection and be willing to acknowledge all emails sent to you with 48 hours.

Be willing to take direction as needed to accomplish the duties.

Have a good working knowledge of the Marine Force Manual

Have a proficient understanding of office productivity software (Word, Excel, etc.)

Have access to and a proficient understanding of google services (Google Drive & file sharing)
Training Requirements:

OTS: Officers Training School (Preferred)

PD-100: Marine Basic Course (Preferred)
